Makueni County Government in partnership with USAID for better health and Anglican Development services Eastern, have urged residents of Makueni to come out and receive doses of the Covid-19 Vaccine.
While addressing the press after a ‘Makueni-Journalists’ Covid-19 sensitization program, the County health promotion officer Madam Breta Mutisya has revealed that only 34% of Makueni residents have received full dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, which is a dangerous trend.
Makueni is ranked number 26 nationally in terms of vaccine uptake, having 192,843 fully vaccinated, from a target population of 700,000.
Residents are thereby urged to comeout and get vaccines which are available in the county medical facilities and dispensed free of charge.
Further, Breta has appreciated the learning institutions and churches for their participation in creating awareness in the community.
